Ok everyone – here’s the deal: I performed at Puck Live’s open mic this past Wednesday and it was a success. It may be a small start, but now that I’ve seen the place, I’m confident that if enough my my fans come out to an 8pm show in Doylestown on the third Wednesday in September. I’ve posted the video of my performance if you want to see the place. I’ll make a Facebook event soon.

What’s up everyone? It’s been a great Thursday through Sunday and I need to blog. Momager and I went to the studio Thursday and Friday to record Catch Me – my newest song. The song’s lyrics are the first ones I wrote when I began seriously pursuing this career. The song is about how I’m creating my own version of rap and to watch out, because I’m coming up. I’m doing it my way, welcoming everyone along with me – but there is no room for hate or profanity. The beat is dirty, dance-able, with a staccato rhythm loosely inspired by the hip hop song “Poison,” and the guitar licks played by Anthony are inspired by classic rock Led Zeppelin style riffs. It’s a true Neo-Pop sound, following the sound heard on “Human Link.” The VLog lets you see a bit of the recording process, and we’re working on capturing better shots on the recording sessions from here on out. The next song will be a totally different style of Neo-Pop, I’m thinking Enigma/Cher/Michael Jackson/love song ballad that you can dance to and really connect with. It will be my most vocally challenging song. It will be followed by another ballad with an emotional message and gripping melodies paired with deep percussion.

On Thursday, Brandon was the man on the mix. He’s been a great engineer with pro skills and knowledge. Thank you for all your help Brandon, and we wish you success and happiness on your new journey. On Friday, I finally got to dig in to the engineering and mixing, adding my own touches to the song, bringing it to the next level – something that I will do on future tracks. I enjoy this because it gives me more control over my music. I get to experiment, try new or uncommon things and take more time exploring various options to give the song a creative boost. I’ll be upgrading to a new music production program on my personal computer so we can expedite the process at the studio.
As you can see, new Chad D fans are appearing all over! Any age, any race, everyone is welcome to enjoy my music. The kids love it, “older” folks like it, and the Y gen. is addicted.
Note: Met up with established artist and Sonic Boom studio-mate Christine Martucci at her jam session in New Hope at John & Peter’s Pub. Hoping to open/close for her upcoming shows, and maybe be sponsored by her tequila, Luna Nueva. Mmmm, but I won’t know how it tastes until October 5th, my 21st!

I’m also actively pursuing my web design business, so keep me in mind and refer your friends and colleagues that need web or graphic work done. Everyday, my plans and visions of incorporating my music and web careers grow and evolve. It’s really exciting to think of these things, then know that they can manifest into reality. LOVE IT! Hello world! Human Link is finished, mastered, and available to stream from my music player to the right. I’m recording the next song this week. It will be my most prominent rap song with a fast beat, and new sounds, so look out for that. I’m still waiting on Baker & Rannells to help me out with copyrighting Story Begins and Human Link. Once copyrighted, they’ll be on iTunes for purchase!

Not here. Not happening. Things are moving a bit slower than the first half of the year, but I’m getting used to it. I need a new music playlist. Anybody have any ideas? Just confirmed studio for the 26th and 27th, so we’ll be four songs up! If anybody wants to preview or purchase my single “Life Is A Ride,” click here to go to iTunes! I’m working on copyrighting Story Begins and Human Link, and soon a fourth! Once I get five songs, I can start booking venues and doing shows again! Delicious Dirt is going well, we just need buzz! I’m going to work on some share-able web items and hopefully have everyone promote with me. I’ve been connected to another industry veteran to help get the delicious ball rolling a bit more, and to the right people.
As Chad D Music’s second primary investor, ChaddyD Creations is doing pretty well. Newest client, AKA Salon, is doing very well! Due to wonderful collaboration, the owner and I are quickly moving forward with the development and will most definitely meet the launch date! I’m getting business cards soon, and if you – or anyone you know – needs a website and graphic design, contact me! I’m planning on collecting my own little section of the web, and you can benefit from the exposure! If you’re interested in helping build the blog-ring, definitely get in contact with me.

Well, it’s been a pretty uneventful week, but some down time is ok! I updated my WordPress software and it erased my website style so here I am, rebuilding the CSS. I’ve been expanding my freelance design business and building funds for the album. I’m really itching to get the next 2 songs done so I can begin performing again! Delicious Dirt is slowly coming together, but we need to meet with Anthony to keep it moving.
I’ve been looking for some new shoes but I don’t want anything available in retail stores. Working at Kashi spoiled me because of all the crazy & shiny shoes he designed. I went to Montgomeryville Mall and King Of Prussia mall, but nothing jumped out at me. I used to be able to go to a mall and want tons of stuff, but there isn’t much I want at this time in my life. I just want to create the album and launch my career! I want something wild, new, fresh, neo pop! If you have any shoe suggestions, feel free to leave a comment.

I’m sitting and waiting for toy story 3 to come on. In three dee. We shall see!
update: the movie was decent. BUT, I’m not going to pay an extra fee to see a 3-D movie ever again. Besides that, there was a very cool animated short before the movie that was more intriguing to me than the actual film. check it out.
